7:00 Wednesday Night for Awana Children Ministry

AWANA

The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of the phrase "Approved workmen are not ashamed" (2 Timothy 2:15)

Our evenings begin at the Family Life Center that is located on 1501 E. Mary Street at 6:50pm.  Before the evening starts there is a very affordable family meal that is severed from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

The Awana program begins with children at the age of 3; they must be 3 before September 1st.  The preschool program is called Cubbies.  The Cubbies will have song time, crafts, games, story time with puppets, and a time for memorizing a short verse each week.  Cubby the mascot is a cute cuddly bear that teaches the children to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our program for Kindergarten through 6th grade has three different sessions that each child will attend throughout the evening.  There is the game time where the kids will work on teamwork and accumulate points for an overall team winner at the end of the night.  Large group time is a time of devotion where the gospel message is given through a story or object lesson.  Handbook time is where the children sit down and work on memorizing and reciting God's word with an adult leader.

Our evening ends at 8:20pm as the kids received their awards they have earned by completing sections of their handbooks.

This program uses over 40 adult volunteers that have been trained in the Awana ministry for your child.  Please come and visit us, to see how we are training children to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions please contact the church at 620-276-8356.
